Muriel

The reason this young lady looks so dreamy-eyed is that she has just been marked for greatness in the screen world. Her real name is Muriel Teresa Wright, but she dropped the Muriel because another Muriel Wright in the theater had prior rights to the name. Jumped to stardom at 22 in her Hollywood debut as the ingénue of The Little Foxes, with Bette Davis. Started theatrical career 4 years ago at Maplewood, N.J., high school, where the drama society voted her "actress most likely to succeed." Decorates her Hollywood dressing-room with pictures of Helen Hayes, her favorite actress. Abhors exercise, and her movie contract specifies she won't have to swim or ride a horse. Stands 5 feet 2 ½ inches, and weighs 106 pounds.
